Skibb to open All-Ireland confined finals

Skibbereen Theatre Society have been drawn on the opening night, Friday, April 20th, of the All-Ireland Confined Drama Finals in Shercock, Co Cavan, to perform their production of the Billy Roche play, Poor Beast in the Rain.

In advance of the long trip up the country, they will be giving two final local performances in Skibbereen Town Hall this Sunday, April 15th, and on Wednesday next, 18th, nightly at 8pm. Naturally, they are hoping for good crowds to give the cast and crew a good send-off as they contest their sixth All-Ireland final.

They have finished second twice, in 2004 and 2005, and third last year. Their 2005 second placing was with another Billy Roche play, The Cavalcaders, so they are hoping to go one better with Poor Beast in the Rain. The 2012 results will be announced on Saturday night, April 28th.
